Mr. Gustafson is an Advisor to betweenMD. He heads commercialization efforts for Karerra and has a plethora of experience empowering early stage companies to attain profitability and building recognizable brand equity. Helping turn innovations into revenue and expansion through choreographing limited resources is his unique skill set.
A background of building successful approaches in Healthcare, Real Estate, FinTech, and Global Retailers, has given Mr. Gustafson a fantastic track record of success. Access to this experience helps those companies who have built a nascent approach know how to organize multiple aspects to take root and scale. Doing this in an efficient concurrence within changing situations has been exemplified in his performance with MarketDial, RoomChoice, Xant, JobDash, MX, Maxim Healthcare, and Marcus and Millichap.
Before joining Karerra, Mr. Gustafson consulted with MarketDial and directed efforts to sign its first lighthouse band as the result of the new sales process. Consulting for RoomChoice, he headed the successful engagement to revive and repair the relationship with a banner client that was impeding the company from both a revenue and a brand management perspective. As Enterprise Sales Director at Xant, he revived a major account that had been stagnant for years and as Vice President of Sales at JobDash Mr. Gustafson rebuilt the go to market strategy and that new strategy recognized more revenue in the following 6 months, than the company had seen in the previous 3 years.
One of the most pivotal performances of Mr. Gustafson’s career was with MX, a fledgling FinTech startup almost out of cash. During a desperate stage in the funding process where employees were close to not being paid, he built trust with a client to the point that a multi billion dollar bank prepaid for a technology that did not yet exist. For MX, he closed two multi billion dollar banks in the same week to better position the capital raise that reduced dilution and kept a crucial partner from exiting a standing integration that would have closed the door to multiple in-process opportunities. MX is now valued at over $500,000,000.
Before entering the technology vertical, Alec headed a new arena for Maxim Healthcare and grew the patient load to exceed capacity which is a problem that every new venture seeks.
Mr. Gustafson holds a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University – Idaho and volunteers in Intermountain Healthcare’s Neuro Specialty Rehab Unit and with Wasatch Adaptive Sports which helps those with physical or neurological impairments enjoy the outdoors.
